Overall, we expect the 2024 Explorer will come loaded with a lot of new updates which will be fully revealed when the car is unveiled later this year.Back in the front, the Explorer’s centre console is as versatile as a daytime TV presenter it can hold loads as diverse as a 15in laptop or three 1.5-litre drinks bottles. Since the updated vehicles have been camouflaged while testing, it’s safe to say these issues are being tested and will be resolved. There are some mechanical complaints which include engine stalling, sloshing sound in the fuel tank, transmission, and brake issues. Updates have also been made to improve this system and we hope the new Explorer can get it. Blue-Cruise is one feature the Explorer is yet to get while vehicles like the F-150, Mach-E, and Expedition already have this feature. Since we’re seeing signs of a new infotainment system, we would expect Ford to have addressed that issue. This is not specific to Ford since other automakers experience similar issues, but improvements should be made to make them work better. Owners have complained of glitchy cameras and faulty safety systems working when they’re not supposed to. We would also expect Ford to make some improvements to the mechanical parts and technology features that come with the Explorer. Finally, a host of optional features like the B&O sound system, eight-way power seats, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and many more depending on trim level. You still get the configuration of two captain’s chairs in the middle, or the standard bench seat. Being a three-row mid-size SUV, it will still be able to sit seven people and carry ample luggage. We doubt there’ll be any chance of getting the large 27-inch display found on the Chinese model. The current infotainment screen size is eight inches as standard with an optional 10.4-inch display. There appears to be a new infotainment screen which looks a bit bigger than the standard screen but smaller than the optional one, but the interior layout is still the same. The layout stays mostly the same, but there is a subtle change to the center console and dashboard with better-integrated air vents and smartphone shelf. This one shot captures an all-black interior with red stitching which is further proof that this is an ST line. American and Chinese Explorers will never be completely the same but design elements will be shared and this helps us get a very good idea of what the upcoming 2024 Ford Explorer will look like.Īn interior shot of the Explorer has also surfaced with minimal changes. The front and rear designs are similar but with notable changes like the full light bar in front and a light strip at the rear. But that was shown in its Luxury trim with chrome accents. Many of these updates are already seen on the updated Chinese Explorer. Trim pieces on this vehicle are all black which suggests that this should be an ST line and each trim level may get slightly different changes but a similar overall design. You also get slightly revised bumpers with no visible exhaust tips, this must have been done to clean up the rear end. The most notable change here is the extended taillight which now has a strip that cuts into the bodywork. Since this is a refresh, the side profile remains unchanged, but we do expect some new wheel designs, and there are more changes at the rear. The present Explorer is a good-looking vehicle and these changes make it look better. New fog light housings are closer to the edge and are now vertical instead of horizontal. A bigger grille is prominent that takes up the center of the vehicle, the headlights don’t cut into the bumper like before but are pushed out even further. There are new LED headlights that look similar to the old ones but are different. Undisguised photos of the new Explorer have shown some notable changes to the front and rear fascia of the updated Explorer.
